This course is offered as 8 x 1.45 hour virtual modules. ALL modules must be attended in sequence. Please only apply if you are able to attend all of the sessions. The course is for social workers and associated professionals from BCP Children's Services and BCP Multi-Agency Partners. This course addresses key issues and best practice in responding to children, particularly adolescents, who are being exploited and trafficked.
Event Outcomes:
- Module A - Definitions, discourses, exploitation, consent. ‘Mind your Language'.
- Module B - Trauma (brain and body response), memory and ABE, special measures, toolkit, Barnahus model.
- Module C - Trauma bonds v's attachment, breaking trauma bonds, DTD, perpetrators.
- Module D - ‘Vulnerability' and victim blaming, failure of ‘prevention' programmes.
- Module E - Contextual safeguarding, peer on peer abuse, safety mapping.
- Module F - Identity, intersectionality and exploitation.
- Module G - Risk, Resilience, ‘mentalising teams' and Reflective Function.
- Module H - Adolescent abuse system, ‘adol-essence', Innovation and ways forward.
Course Cost: £125.00 There is a £125.00 course fee for this training for all non-BCP Children's Services staff. This includes BCP Agency staff. BCP Permanent staff will not be charged for this course. This course will be charged at 100% if your place is cancelled within 1 week of the training. This course will be charged at 50% if your place is cancelled within 2 weeks of the training. This course will be fully refunded if your place is cancelled within 4 weeks of the training.
