Children’s Social care has a specialist team of Family Assessment Practitioners who undertake Parenting Assessments.
The main focus of this role is to work directly with children and families to undertake in depth parenting assessments in accordance with the Department of Health’s Framework for The Assessment of children in need and their families. These assessments can sit at Child in Need or Child Protection level or be ordered through the Court process.

All members of the team are trained to complete Parent Assessment Manual (PAM) assessments with parents with learning difficulties and are also able to deliver an attachment parenting programme to those who need it.
The Family Time service has been set up to arrange and facilitate all supervised sessions for our children in care. The aim is provide a safe space for children to spend time with their parents and wider family members, whether that is at the Family Resource Centre or in a community setting. We have a dedicated team of experienced contact workers whose role it is to make sure the children are safe and enjoy time with their families.
