Overview:
This course is designed to give an overview of domestic abuse in order to improve the quality of support from all customer-facing staff. Delegates are provided with the tools to identify when someone may need support with domestic abuse, allowing staff to consider how to safely and compassionately support customers within their role.
Aim:
The overall aim of this awareness session is to improve the service to victims and survivors of domestic abuse through:
- Training staff to improve domestic abuse awareness, understanding the signs of domestic abuse and coercive controlling behaviours
- Training staff to be comfortable and confident in having conversations about domestic abuse with clients to build safety and knowledge
- Improving access to appropriate domestic abuse support for victims of domestic abuse through awareness of different services and options available
Outcomes:
- Trained staff will be more efficient in supporting people who have experienced Domestic Abuse
- Improve referrals into domestic abuse services and related support
- Improved identification of domestic abuse amongst adults and children
